Fear Records

Fear Records is a boutique record label, based in the North West of England, with links in both Atlanta, USA and Stockholm, Sweden. Darren Mills, founder of Fear, has always had a strong passion for music, and when the opportunity came to support one of his friends with renowned record label Konlive, (which included a glimmering roster of worldwide superstars such as Lady Gaga and Colby O’Donis), this became the springboard to his onwards path in music. Fear Records was then born from this experience, leading both Darren & his friend to Atlanta; opening doors with Teddy Bishop, Devyne Stephens, Q Parker and R&B royalty, Akon.

The brand new label now showcases a growing network, including soul singer Paul Akister, Swedish pop sensation Linnea, and two new upcoming UK bands Gloria & The France. 2020 will see many upcoming events for the artists, including headline tours, the release of a number of EP’s throughout the year & much more.

Darren has worked with notable producers Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, Tyler James) and Fred Cox (Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Lily Allen, Kasabian) and has also recently & excitingly welcomed John Holborow – founder of the most successful independent record company in the world: Beggars Group (The Pixies, The Prodigy, The White Stripes) – to the team as an advisor and NED. With 25+ years experience in the industry, the team at Fear intend to help rising talent get their deserved place in the spotlight, showcase star quality, and as a company, always keep their artists career at the forefront of everything they do.

Mills states “The best thing about our roster is that I’m excited by their music, believe in them and we all enjoy working with each other. Without the enjoyment there is no Fear Records. Less is more, with quality being the main objective for the label, rather than having a large roster where no-one can fully experience the ‘Fear love’.”

Fear Records maintain that their overall goal is not only to empower their artists, and allow their inner talent to shine, but also to encourage and motivate these artists to express their unique ideas and to freely allow their innate flair & originality to grow and develop

As a final word on their aims as a company going forward, Mills adds, “If we achieve our goals, which are completely artist focussed, then we’ve done our job properly and we’re happy. Our success can only be measured by achieving and supporting our artists’ ambitions, not our own, regardless of money, genre or current success – we want to help give them a bright career and put our all into driving their success.”
